Training

Miata was in the training area of the eighth squad's barracks her twin blades in her hands. She swung them at a several of the wooden stakes that were set up meant to teach one how to react to blows after delivering them. As she struck each stake it would turn a wooden pole swinging at her that she would either have to dodge or block. It was a simple setup but it worked rather well.

The newly graduated shingami had gotten her cloak backa nd was wearing it the brown fabric covering much of her body though under it she still wore the academy uniform until she was issued her Eighth Squad uniform. She would take a step back her using the back of her left hand sighing. I do wish I had some actual people to train with..wooden stakes get boring and predictable after a while. she would sit down taking a rest sheathing her sword for now.

Kojiro thought of scouting out a new student who had recently graduated to shinigami. As 2nd in command of the secret Kido Corps, it was part of Kojiro's job to seek out interesting individuals and decide if they hold undiscovered potential. It was not hard to find out where she was, for Squad 8's Lieutenant was a close friend of Kojiro's. His pace was medium and graceful not showing a hint of rush but clearly moving faster than normal walking pace.

Entering the training grounds, Kojiro's sword was on his left side, though would only be used if absolutely needed or suggested by his Captain. He had learned that unnecessary violence was not appreciated by his Captain and the last thing that Kojiro would have wanted would be to disappoint his Captain in anyway shape or form. He noticed her there, resting with her swords sheathed, facing some wooden stakes.

"Excuse me miss. Are you Miata?"

Kojiro already knew the answer but this was always a good way to start conversation with someone you were not familiar with.

Miata would be finishing a cup of water as she heard someone enter the training grounds. She turned her head to look at who it was seeing that is was another Shinigami though she did not know who he was. She could feel that he was powerful, not as powerful as the captains he had met on her first night in Seireitei but still powerful. This probably meant that he was someone important and that she should be polite. Setting her water downs he would stand and turn to face him.

"Yes I'm Miata...may I ask who is asking?" she would pick up her swords placing them on her back under her cloak. the end of the sheath would stick out but for the most part the blades would be hidden. She stood there waiting for him to answer her own question. Why is there someone looking for me already? Did I do something wrong and not realize it? She would notice the second person entering the training grounds and would not to them as well. He was giving off a large sum of power..like the captain..was he a captain!? she took a deep breath to steady herself as she waited for her answers

Normally the captain of the 12th division would be inside his Laboratory working on some type of invention or during experiments of some kind. However, Hinahouou has been complaining a lot of late that the captain haven’t been loving her like he should have. Now to most people this “loving” would instantly be translated into some perverted thought, but to Yasashiku it just simply means she wanted to “play” more. Which in turn mean actually be used in some type of physical encounter...in short a fight or spar of sorts. So taken that in mind the captain had taken the day off to look for some type of spar.

Before he even got out of his office he was instructed by a female shinigami, that he was required in the eighth division to test the strength of a lieutenant and a recently graduated academy student. The thought that he had to spar again the two lower ranks brought a warm smile across his face, as he enjoys helping the others succeed in whatever their heart desires. Knowing the natural goals of most that were young in nature they wanted to become strong enough to protect those who they cherish or to revenge whoever has did them in. No matter the case or cause the captain will help all that WANTS the help. This is what truly sat him apart from the former captain of the 12th and made him different.

His steps were like a ghost as he casually walked down the wooden hallway. His like purple eyes caught the shine that came off the floors making it obvious that they have just been waxed. He also noticed that there were other eyes upon his figure as he walked by. With those smiles came some blushes from women and men a like. An involuntary muscle twitched on the side of the captain’s head as he remembers the times males have asked him out for they thought he was of a female gender. This was slightly annoying to him but nothing that would cause him to freak out or anything.

Finally coming to the eighth division training hall, he walks through the door as looked around in the vicinity. What might seem like just a split-second glimpse, the young captain had taken in physical information about the three individuals within the room...which was quiet spacious to say the least. The first person he took notice of was Miata; a recent graduated student and by far the youngest looking one here...however she was older then him which was strong to say the least. As of yet the captain had no idea what division she will be assigned too...it will be interesting to test her indeed.

The second division he noticed was Kojiro Soyuki the lieutenant of the fourth division and vice captain of the kido corps. With only that information the captain knew that he will have to prepare for a kido assault from that individual, which would be fun to say the least. For he was also adapted in the healing arts which made since he was the vice captain of the fourth division. And tagging along with the vice captain was no other then his captain; Shiko Rose. Again he knew of the captain and some of his abilities and he also knows that he was kind of a pacifist but there is a fine line to that. Looking at Rose he speak calmly “I take it you hear for medical support?” He said with a slight smile. It was somewhat known that the captain of the fourth and 12th had a dislike for each other...for the 12th made poisons while the fourth treated those that have been poisoned.

However as of yet no members from the 12th division had went to the fourth division for poison like injuries or any injuries. Though there was still that rival...for each new captain of the respective division is taught of that rival. The young captain was wearing his standard shinigami attire. Around his neck was a black choker with a small phoenix on it...this choker was unique for it was a secondary weapon. His zanpakuto was scrapped to the right side of him, where it was easy to be unsheathed.

“Miata and Kojiro, I have been instructed to test both of your skills. Make this quick and simple. I’m Captain Yasashiku Kurotsuchi. However to save confusion call me Captain Shiku for short. Now I want both of you to fight me at your full strength don’t hold back at all...for I want. The training is simple; I want to test how well you work with each other along with your individual skills. Now as you noticed the fourth division captain here to tend to the wounds that will occur. Enough of that..lets fight.” He said, breaking the choker around his neck.

A six foot long naginata appeared in his right hand as he stands in a straight up position with the curve blade touching the ground. This wasn't his zanpakuto though the weapon is strong enough for a captain shikai. It was time for the captain to test their strength.

Kojiro acknowledged the girl as she confirmed who she was to him. Before he could introduce himself though, two Captains appeared. One was his own, Shiko though he did not speak. The other Captain spoke. His attire and just the air around him caused Kojiro to start guessing from his memory who he was. Kojiro had a guess and it was confirmed yet again as the Captain introduced himself as a Kurotsuchi, Captain of Squad 12. He explained that he was here to not only test their individual skill but also the way they work together.

Kojiro crossed his arms as he pondered quickly the words of the Captain. Test our skills as a team? Both Kojiro and Miata had just met each other. How could they even attempt to work well together? Why was he, a Lieutenant paired with a newly graduated shinigami? It was a strange idea indeed though why did the Captain choose them? Kojiro sighed as he held his arms quickly aloof though tense, as he was told to go all out again the man.

Kojiro sensed his Captain preform kido. From his studies it appeared that it was clearly bakudo and higher than what Kojiro could achieve at his skill level. Kojiro assumed it was probably one of the 80's though since it seemed passive Kojiro focused on the task at hand. He would mainly act as cover for the girl. His Captain was here to heal wounds though the less amount of work he could offer his Captain would be best. Kojiro would take a tactical position behind Miata and say

"Looks like we are paired together for an experiment. I'll cover you feel free to take the lead, don't be scared."

What what what!? what the heck was going on!? Miata looked at all of the people whom had gather completely confused. The graduate sigh a bit as she unsheathed her sword taking a cross stance with them her right blade vertical while her left was horizontal. It seemed that the captain whom had actually introduced himself wanted to fight her and the first person to arrive. This seemed like a poor idea as she was sure the captain was far stronger than she was. Still she had been wanting a live foe and here was her chance. She was not overly fond of the phrase 'wounds that would occur' though.

She would press down on her right foot before she lunged forward, a basic move to be sure but as she closed in her left sword would feint in for a thrust while she spun her body around. she did so to allow her right foot to swing around in a fairly powerful spin kick aimed at the captain's gut. Hopefully her thrust had drawn the weapon away otherwise this fight could be over before it even started. Also though she did have back up so maybe that would help with her move's success.

A smile came across the young captain’s face as he waited for the actions of the lieutenant and the academy student. To most people they would think this training would be odd for why would a captain train with an academy student and lieutenant? Well the answer was rather simple...if one actually thought about. Within a war individual who never met fought each other will be trust in working into a tag-team of sorts. Now at that moment one couldn’t question working with another individual for their life could possibly depend on it. That’s the reason for the training and nothing more...well there is more but the captain isn’t saying anything yet.

His eyes never left the two individuals in front of him, as he watched the girl unsheathed her zanpakuto. The simple thought of fighting against a swordsmen was a delight to the captain. For if one knew their history time after time...a swordsmen loses to a pole-arm expert like the captain him self. Lifting the naginata up slightly, he would do a sweeping motion six feet in front of him. Now since the student was lunging forward, her legs would be cut from underneath her. This would easily severe her limbs.

However if the manage to dodge it by either jumping up into the air or jumping backwards dodging the six foot long naginata. For dodging in the air, his naginata would stop it sweeping motion and move it upward in an attempt to slice her in half. If she dodged backwards, he would appear behind her. Bending his leg and kicking her straight in the back, which would send her flying. Though that’s if she somehow managed to dodge the sweeping motion of his attack.

Despite his attention being on the small female, he was this aware of the other individual and he hoped he would join soon. To only make things interesting.

“I want to fight.” A small girl voice said within the captain’s enter world. It seems that the captain’s spirit was getting restless...which is a bad sign for those within the arena.
